My daughter loves going to her art class! She has had both Hana and Hannah (what are the chances!). Both are great teachers who are kind and nurturing. Each week they focus on a new theme and it's fun...like portrait of a pet, designing a shoe, clouds, Leonardo da Vinci, etc. They also use different materials - pencil, oils, acrylic, clay, etc. We previously went to a different school, and it was rote learning where you follow the teacher stroke by stroke. My daughter was so bored! Here, they strike a good balance of teaching, keeping kids engaged, exploring new concepts, and giving them artistic freedom!

My daughter had her 10th birthday party at the Art School of SF Bay at the San Rafael location and it was awesome! Teacher Hana was so great with the kids, super engaging with a lot of patience teaching the kids drawing techniques and water colour painting. My daughter enjoyed it so much she is now attending one of Hana's classes! Hana is a natural with the kiddos, I highly recommend her!

I've taken a lot of classes at the San Francisco Irving St location with the teachers who will be teaching in San Rafael, and I absolutely recommend them! Cody's a great teacher with a wealth of knowledge to share and I keep coming back to the classes he teaches over and over (already learned portraits, oil and acrylic, outdoor sketching, and plein air oil with him, in repeat sessions too). I've also taken Watercolor 101 with Hana and she does a fantastic job and goes over tons of art fundamentals and principles and watercolor techniques in a very easy to understand way (and she also has a ton of knowledge on other topics like comics and animation as well)! Definitely take some classes here! Support amazing local artists and a great school!
