Jessica E.

I've taken the fundamentals class with Hugo, and I really appreciate how he balances the structure of the lesson/topic of the day with giving us the freedom to explore. I appreciate that each week we focus on developing skills in a different area -- mixing colors, perspective, figure drawing, etc. He also uses a variety of media such as acrylics, pastels, pencil drawing, and each person through the course figures out what's their favorite and can use it for their final project.

Hugo was a great coach for this fledging artist. It's amazing how one comment from him, such as "I think the bottom of the flower is a little more purple" or "try moving the browline in the portrait a little higher", can make a huge difference, and over time my artist eye has gotten better under his tutelage so I can notice similar details. We also have a good time chatting about various topics, and he takes suggestions for what music to play while we create. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to introduce a little more creativity and expression into their lives but don't know how!

Cody is a brilliant teacher who was able to provide great advice on how to improve my painting. His guidance helped me to develop techniques which included (not limited to) perspective and composition, use of colors, brush technique, applying light and shade; to basic geometry. Cody (and the team) took the time to develop these and other skills.... I would highly recommend.

I took the 14 session acrylic and oil painting course and it is one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. Cody is a brilliant teacher and really pays attention to all his students to ensure they develop their techniques while having the space/freedom they need. The other teachers are also really good.

I have been going to the Adults Oil and Acrylic painting class for about a year. Teacher Maria is very knowledgeable about various art styles and techniques and has taughted us the Old Masters, Impressionism, Hyperrealism and other styles of painting. I definitely see an improvement in my painting and look forward to class each week.
