Day1

9:00am-12:00pm. Sketching & shading. Study of facial features, head, neck, and shoulder anatomy. Quick sketches of heads in various positions.

12:30pm-3:30pm. Starting a charcoal portrait drawing.

Day 2

9:00am-12:00pm. Studies of hands and arms anatomy. Quick sketches from references.

12:30pm-3:30pm. Finishing a charcoal portrait.


Day 3

9:00am-12:00pm. Achieving likeness. Series of exercises. Starting a realistic portrait on canvas: composition and drawing.

12:30pm-3:30pm. Watercolor portrait with underpainting.


Day 4

9:00am-12:00pm. Continuing realistic portrait on canvas: starting out with colors.

12:30pm-3:30pm. Starting a master copy / fan art.


Day 5

9:00am-12:00pm. Finalising  realistic portrait on canvas.

12:30pm-3:30pm. Finalising master copy/ fan art.

We are not offering refunds for new purchases. However, full credit towards future bookings or transfer to another camp/class will be offered for any cancellations made up to 24 hrs before the camp or class start.

Learn to paint and draw portraits alike! This camp is recommended for students familiar with drawing fundamentals, that would like to pull their portrait drawing skills to the next level. We will study anatomy of the head, neck, chest, arms, and hands, work on short pencil and charcoal sketches, make a realistic watercolor portrait with underpainting, and a large realistic portrait in acrylics and oil.

This camp will teach you:

  • Facial anatomy

  • Facial features: differencies and similarities

  • Achieving linkeness

  • Painting a portrait

  • Drawing a portrait

  • Stylization of a portrait



Frequently asked questions about this camp

What is the teacher-student ratio? The teacher-student ratio is 6 to 1 in the camps for 6-10 year olds, and 7 to 1 in camps for 10-18 year olds. Can I enroll my child for 1 or 2 days only? No, the sessions are 5 days long. My child is 1 year younger than the camp age listed. Can she participate in the camp? Student 1 year younger than the camp age listed can attend the camp if the child is really into art in general and the camp topic in particular. Do you provide before and after class/camp care? Our school does not provide extended child care before and after classes. Due to limited space, please bring the kids only for specific time frame according to the class schedule you are registered for. Do you provide extended care? No, we do not provide extended care.
