I am so happy I found this studio recently! I visited it few times and I already have a huge progress in my painting! I want to give a special thank you to Teacher Anna! Her professionalism, extensive knowledge, and genuine kindness make each class a joy. She patiently guides, creating a comfortable space that boosts confidence. My husband and I took the Adult Art class with Sara S. for 12 weeks during Fall 2022. We thoroughly enjoyed our class with her. She would start the class with a small lecture and demo and then release us to try on our own. Then she would walk around to assist and provide tips for us to improve. This is where she really exceled! She was great at analyzing our paintings and trouble areas and getting us on the right path quickly. For my first art class ever in my life, I have gained a greater appreciation for artists now. Sara is also very calming and chill in her mannerism, and she would hum a gentle tune as she helps us.
We learned many different types and techniques. We learned about the skeletal structure and the body shapes and perspectives. We learned vanishing points, scale, shading, and proportions. We also got to draw a live model. It was a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend!

This was one of my best Birthday Present! Loved and Enjoyed each and every moment of the class. Sara was amazing, meticulous and very patient as a teacher. I took it for the Spring of 2023 and learned a lot. I would recommend anyone to take these classes if you want to learn some new skills!

I could not be happier with this school, my daughter, she is 15 years old, tried two different schools before Art School of SF Bay, she loves drawing but on the previous schools I didn’t see any progress or motivation at all, since she started here she has improved big deal and she loves her teacher too, I highly recommend this school.

My two daughters have been taking art lessons from Maria for almost five years.  Art School of SF Bay organizes their curriculum in a way that the students have opportunities to use a variety of media and materials, and to learn about different artists and styles from all over the world.  Of course, they learn about art history as well.  During the class, each student will work on a subject matter of their choice, but under a pre-designated theme.  So you will not see all the kids are drawing the same apple, but rather each kid has their own still life set.  This requires a lot more attention and guidance from the teachers, but really frees up the kids' mind when they create their own art.  Art School of SF Bay is truly a hidden gem and we are delighted to learn that Maria is now teaching at their San Jose site (near Santana Row), which is much closer to us.  If you are looking for some high quality art classes for young kids, I strongly recommend Art School of SF Bay.

I have been going to the Adults Oil and Acrylic painting class for about a year. Teacher Maria is very knowledgeable about various art styles and techniques and has teached us the Old Masters, Impressionism, Hyperrealism and other styles of painting. I definitely see an improvement in my painting and look forward to class each week.

I joined Art School at SF bay for the Adult drawing class...
I must say I thoroughly enjoyed every day of the course. Was also able to learn quite a few complex concepts and was pleasantly surprised to see the art work I made at the end of the class...I could make good progress with my skill set and am more confident about it than before. Highly recommend!

My 8-yr old daughter has been taking classes here for the last two months and its incredible. She enjoys the mix of media and her drawing, painting and understanding of art has increased tremendously. Vika uses real art vocabulary and the lessons and creations are wonderful. I've been a student at this art school for about 4 years now, and the teachers are really awesome, easy-going, helpful, and amazing artists. Instead of just sitting around doing step-by-step circle cartoons, these teachers actually see hope in young children to make awe-inspiring pieces. I found this school really enjoyable as well as helpful, and it was a ton of fun. I learned a lot about different art styles, and all the rules and pointers of classical art, and it is now a new hobby and passion of mine.
