WEEKEND PORTRAIT&FIGURE DRAWING
AND PAINTING SUMMER WORKSHOPS
Learn to paint museum-quality portraits, and move your figure drawing skills to the next level with our Weekend Portrait and Figure Drawing and painting boot camps! 3 hours long on Saturday, mid-June to mid-August. Model fee included.
PORTRAIT: This year, we decided to focus on the secrets of portrait painting that are not even taught at major art colleges. What colors should we use for shadows, halftones, lights, and halftones, to make the human skin look real? The answer comes from the scientific studies of paintings by Rubens and Titian, and we will use this method while painting a portrait from a live model.
FIGURE: The most challenging requirement of art college portfolios, strong figure drawing skills are the subject of this workshop! We will cover proportions, anatomy, shading of the human figure; talk about most common mistakes and how to avoid them. In the end, each student will bring home plenty of new skills along with several sketches and one very good finished drawing of a human figure.
The course is taught by Art School of SF Bay teachers Maria Zhalnina and Svetlana Teplova.
