Camp Description:

Week 1: World of Illustration June 15-19, 2020

This camp teaches character design from the ground up: starting with fundamentals like anatomy, gesture, and shape design. We'll study the most famous characters and stories to see what makes a hero look like a hero, or what it is about the villains that make us cringe just by looking at them.

Week 2: All About Painting  June 22-26, 2020

This camp is dedicated to various aspects of painting with the most popular painting media: acrylics or oils (students can choose), plus an intro on watercolor. By the end of this camp students will learn to asses the desired color by mixing, correctly represent lighting, texture and proportions of objects, strengthen their knowledge of color theory and human anatomy, and bring home a complicated still life (morning students), a creative self portrait (noon students) or both (full day students).

Week 3: Manga June 29-July 3, 2020

Ever had an awesome idea for a story or a picture but didn't know how to make it happen? Come join fellow fans of comics and animated shows to take your drawing skills to the next level! This five-day camp offers a freeform project-based experience where students can create comics and illustrations of their favorite characters, both original or from existing media, while being guided with advice for anatomy and proportion, posing, perspective, composition, color choice, and the process from sketching to inking to coloring.

Bring your own lunch and snacks.

High-quality art materials provided.
