 online art camp for kids 10-16 years old

Online dates:

June 1-4   (4 full days) $380

July 19-23 (5 full days) $480

This camp will be held ONLINE via ZOOM video conference. Students will need access to a computer / tablet / phone with internet connection and zoom.us. Art materials will be available for pick up from the studio few days before the start of the camp (dates and details will be provided).

Camp Description: 

This camp teaches character design from the ground up: starting with fundamentals like anatomy, gesture, and shape design. Students will learn to create original characters from scratch. Bring your sketchbooks or drawing tablets, instruction will be provided for both digital and traditional media!

 

Bring your own lunch and snacks. 

High-quality art materials provided.

Refund Policy:

We are not offering refunds for new purchases. However, full credit towards future bookings or transfer to another camp/class will be offered for any cancellations made up to 24 hrs before the camp or class start. 

If camp or class is cancelled due to gathering restrictions or shelter in place order placed by state or county authorities, similar online camp/class will be held instead. Students can cancel their registration if online learning does not work for them, with the full credit towards future in person camp/class.

Character Design :

 

DAY 1. Realistic Head Drawing

  1. The creative approach for drawing the head and face honest to realistic proportions 

  2. Using a reference 

  3.  proper techniques for head drawing

    1. Steps for successful drawing

    2. Relying on simple shapes

    3. How to use a pencil

  4. How to draw individual parts of the head that work in harmony with one another.    

    1. The relationship each part of the face has with the other 

 

DAY 2. Stylized head drawing

  1. Use of simple shapes to project more complicated concepts.

  2. Stylized proportions and their relationship to realistic proportions

 

DAY 3. Realistic human anatomy (male and female)

  1. Proportions in traditional human drawing

  2. Introduction to basic male and female anatomy 

  3. Creating bodies in motions

  4. Gesture drawing

 

DAY 4. Stylized human anatomy

  1. Use of simple shapes to create characters

  2. The limitations of stylized anatomy 

  3. Playing with proportions to create new styles 

 

DAY 5. Final project
